Coastal city of Dahab, is one of the places you should definitely visit, if you plan to visit Egypt. You have the chance to see and do some activities in one day, like: snorkeling, diving, swimming, riding camels, riding squad along the desert and hiking in the canyon.
I start my journey from Sharm el-Sheikh and by car it takes about one hour. Dahab is in Agaba Bay, in north direction, in the middle of Red Sea and the desert. This trip I did with guide, because in the road has no street signs. All the road pas through desert and hills with colors, that means that they have minerals.
It has a stop in typical bar, with traditional furniture. Very interesting!
We arrived in the place where were ‘parked’ the camels and I have to wait in the line to get ride on one of them. So, I stayed near the beach and took some photos. Very interesting was the fact that instead of coral reef that were very tightly (in difference of Sharm El-Sheikh), here you can find big stones with different colors. This means that this is with lots of minerals like iron, chrome etc.
I’ve heard that are one of the most intelligent animals, but what I felt impressed was the fact when you get close to them, they vent because don’t want to stay near them and get ride by yourself.
You can stand on their backs, only when the person that takes care of them or maybe grow them up, can order them.
Riding on a camel was so excited, because the panoramic view that was around was stunning. I was in the middle of the desert and the Red Sea.
The program continues with diving and snorkeling to see the unique corals that can found only in Red Sea, or doing swimming. For diving you can take equipment, for the youth and for adult, with good prices.
The beach on Dahab, it was considered one of the most underwater treasures of the world. Usually the place where all people go is called Blue Hole.
The lunch was traditional of Bedouins. You can sit on the ground with table near you, with very good traditional food.
After the lunch, the journey continues to the canyon. Also you have two options: you can go by car (I stay with the guide), or you can take squad motors to go through the desert. It takes around 20-30 minutes.
The canyon in the Unai’s mountain was special from those I have visit till now. The mountain is still with colors, because of the layers of soil with lots of minerals, but totally treeless of vegetation or water flow.
Walking in the end of the canyon and come back in the same trail was about 30-40 min.
The afternoon continuous in shops for buying traditional things or going back in the hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Always you should have water at least 1,5l, other dresses, swimming dress, fruits etc. The guide, transport and the lunch were paid till the beginning and it was very cheap for person. I did this trip in September.
