If you want to go in a place where you can find chestnuts and mushrooms, here it is.
Reç’s village in the North of Albania is known for a big forest with chestnuts trees.
Is very romantic and panoramic nature with a lot of trails.
If you start your journey from Tirana, you will take the road to go in Shkodra, then the road that goes in Hani i Hotit.
If you don’t stop, the entire trip by car is maximum 2 hours.
After the stop near the village of Reç, you will start walking through the massive forest with chestnuts tree.
It’s a very beautiful and magic forest with a surface around 450-500 ha.
When you walk on this forest you can collect chestnuts. They are all around you.
But, the most interesting things in this forest are the mushrooms.
There are a lot, as you can see in my photos.
Some of them are poisonous and some others are very delicious if you cook.
I don’t know all the names of the mushrooms that I took photos, but I asked some friends and also some of my followers in Instagram and they named them.
I was this October in this village and 4 years ago in September.
And telling you the truth I was very surprised for all the kind of mushrooms I found in this forest.
Lycoperdon
This year I took photos of more than 70 kinds of mushrooms.
Fistulina hepatica
Walking in fresh air of the forest helps you to maintain your body in regular form and helps your blood pressure to circulate and reduce problems caused by hypertension.
Russula sp
After 3-4 hours walking, you will arrive in typical restaurant of the village, when you can find traditional and bio food.
They cook in wonderful way the vegetables of the season.
Amanita Phalloides
This trip is for everyone that wants to do hiking in the nature.
I have done this trip in autumn, when you can find chestnuts and mushrooms, but you can go in other seasons of the year.
Clavulina Cristata
As always, don’t forget to take a bottle of water with you and shoes for hiking in the forest.
Of course you can pick up chestnuts and collect mushrooms.
